Q: I care a lot about my privacy. How do I ensure that is kept safe?
A: The only data that is collected from Strava are the basic fields needed to calculate how many points you get. You can enable additional privacy settings in Strava as well. The code to the WITH(e)R CUP app will also be made open source, so that you can see what exactly is happening for yourself.
Q: Can I just enter commutes using a form?
A: Yes. You can enter trips directly to the WitherCup on the "Log Trip" tab. You can also use the Strava mobile phone app or the website to manually enter a Strava commute. If you can't figure out how to do this, come find one of the people below.
Q: Why do I need a Strava account If I can enter trips directly?
Because we are too lazy, or too busy doing billable work, to implement our own account management system. So we are using Strava for secure logins with the added benefit that you can use Strava to track your trips if you want to.
Q: How do I make a trip in Strava count toward the WITH(e)R CUP?
A: Simply mark that trip as a commute (it's a red slider button on the "Trip End" page). Don't know how to do this?? I sympathize! Brian McFarlane, Martine Stillman, Fred Stillman, Maximum Rosencrantz, Kevin Wolf, Greg Strange, or your local Dedicated Deputy of Arbitrary Arbitration (or Chief Arbiter!) can either help you or direct you to someone who can.
Q: How does the weather get entered?
A: If you enter your trip through Strava, the weather is pulled from your comments. If you enter your trip through the WITH(e)R cup web site, then there is a pull down menu. In either case, you can change the weather on previously entered trips from the My Trips tab.
Q: What if I disagree with the weather ruling?
A: See your Dedicated Deputy of Arbitrary Arbitration (or Chief Arbiter) with your wet clothes! The DDAA or CAA can add extra points for you if they rule in your favor.
Q: What about prizes?
A: Each location is going to organize its own prizes.
Q: What about winners?
A: There will be a winner in each location and an overall winner
Q: How do I trash talk?
A: See the "Discussion" bar at left. Dedicated Deputies of Arbitrary Arbitration will review weekly and adjust things as necessary.
Q: What do I do with my beefs??
A: Please see your Dedicated Deputy of Arbitrary Arbitration (Questions will then go public via the Strava Club Page, see above left "Discussions" link)
